Gardening Guild

At the August meeting, Allan congratulated everyone on Kings Bromley winning the Best Kept Village competition again for the sixth year in a row and said that people’s front gardens help to contribute to the winning formula.
The speaker for the evening was Mike Byford who came to talk about Hellebores. He has been breeding and studying hellebores for 38 years and holds a National Collection of wild and hybrid species of the plant which is a member of the buttercup family. Mike showed pictures of a number of varieties with flowers of different colours, shapes and markings and gave ideas for propagation and growing in the garden.
Members are visiting the Plant Plot for an evening visit on 4 September, so the next meeting in the Village Hall will take place on 16 October.
