Village Hall Refurbishment Fund
The Parish Council has set up a separate bank account for all funds related to the renovation of the Village Hall in order that donors can be confident that donations will be used for that purpose only. The signatories are Glen Wright (as Church Warden), Ian Colclough (as Parish Council Clerk) and Allan Howard (as Parish Council Chairman); if any of these leave those roles then the new incumbent will replace the existing signatory. The name of the account is ‘Kings Bromley Village Hall Refurbishment Fund’. We already have a balance of £5,200 – £4,000 from the Gardening Guild representing the profits from the Open Gardens and £1,200 from our County Councillor Martyn Tittley, whose donation is specifically targeted towards the creation of plans of the proposed work. An architect has been chosen to draw up the plans based on the design devised by a Parish Council working group. Once we receive the plans and drawings they will be displayed in the Village Hall so that villagers can comment on them.

The Parish Council funded the work on the roof and chimney out of its own funds. The new project, which is intended to renovate the lobby, kitchen and toilet areas, will be largely funded by donations and grants. The final cost will depend on the exact nature of the final agreed plan, but is likely to be in the region of £40,000 to £50,000.

The Village Hall is owned by Lichfield Diocese and leased on a long-term lease to the Parish Council at a peppercorn rent. The upkeep of the fabric of the hall is the responsibility of the Parish Council. The responsibility for the day to day running of the Hall lies with the Village Hall Committee acting on behalf of the Parish Council.
