Garden Party

On Saturday 12th August there will be a Garden Party at Woodlands, Manor Park, by kind permission of Graham and Florence Coxon. We would be pleased to receive contributions for the tombola, raffle, plant and bric-a-brac stalls.

The opener will be Mrs Sue Hannam, Headteacher of the Cathedral School, Lichfield. Everyone is welcome and we are hoping for a fine afternoon. Admission by ticket, £5 each, to include a cream tea (children 12 and under free), available from Gill and Glen Wright, tel. 472622.

Kings Bromley Show

Another very successful show took place on Saturday and the crowds turned out despite the dubious weather forecast. The day turned out mostly dry and bright, and a brief downpour did not dampen visitors’ spirits. A wide range of entertainment was provided by The Company of Horsemen, the Blackrock Llamas, Sheep Roadshow and a wildlife display including birds of prey. Old favourites included the treasured vehicle parade, horse and dog shows with funfair and races for the children.
The Eureka Jazz band entertained customers of the Shardlow bus bar, as if any encouragement were needed!

The fun continued into the evening with a Barn Dance held in the marquee on the showfield, which was held in aid of the Foresters Scout group.
