HS2 Information Events and PC EGM

Published 1 August 2017

There will be a HS2 Information event at the village hall on 2nd August from 2pm to 8pm. This is another chance to hear first hand how this project will affect your village.
There will be an EGM of the Parish Council in the Village Hall on Monday 7th August at 7.30pm. This will take the form of representatives of HS2 answering a set of previously notified questions on their recently published plans for HS2 (2a). The public can attend as at any Parish Council meeting and ask questions of the Parish Council at the public forum which lasts for 5 minutes at the start of the meeting – extendable at the Chairman’s discretion. After that the public can listen to proceedings.
The set of questions that we have prepared, after having met with the HS2 action group and listened to the concerns of parishioners, is listed below. As can be seen these are aimed at trying to understand what the plans mean and how the impact of the works can be minimized. We still retain the hope that, once the financial and environmental cost of HS2 and its meagre benefits are appreciated by our politicians, it will be scrapped. But in the meantime we are working on mitigating its effects.
The answers that we receive to these questions from HS2 will be published on this site. Questions here HS2 questions (83.2 Kb)
