War Memorial area improvements

On Monday 12/05/25, works will start to refurbish the village war memorial area, which will include a completely new surface and reinstatement of the border posts (this time in metal, not wood). We are grateful for funding from Lichfield District Council and for funds raised during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee events in the village in 2022, which are allowing these works to happen.

The Parish Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause to residents and visitors while the work is undertaken. The contractor is instructed to keep the work area cordoned off at all times for your safety, but to allow continuous access to the post box.

The residents bordering the war memorial site have been written to in advance of the works to warn them of the potential disruption and to reassure them of continuous access to their properties.

The Parish Council, thanks you in advance for your patience while the works are completed, which should be no longer than two working weeks.
