Open Parish Meeting

This years open meeting will take place at 7pm on Thursday 10th April in the village hall. This is your chance to come along and hear what the council and its many local organisations have been doing in the last twelve months. All welcome. (Approx finish time will be 7.45pm)

A38 Toyota Island to Little Eaton LED lighting work

Until April, we’ll be completing the LED lighting upgrade work along the A38, between Toyota Island and Little Eaton. The new LED lighting will be more energy efficient and require less maintenance in the future.
This will be carried out on weeknights, between 8pm and 6am, predominantly under slip road and lane closures, with some full carriageway closures along this stretch.

The closures for this scheme for the following 2 weeks are:

  • 24 March to 26 March – Palm Ct Island to Little Eaton Island northbound carriageway closure
  • 27 March to 28 March – Little Eaton Island to Palm Ct Island southbound carriageway closure

During closures there will be full signed diversion routes in place. Please see the attached bulletin for details.

Litter Pick 2025

On Saturday 15th  and Sunday 16th March a group of Volunteers from the village did a litter pick on the major roads within the Parish Boundary.

As can be seen from the photo a vast amount of rubbish was collected.

Thanks to litter pickers:

Ian & Sue Beckett, Steve Cox, Claudine & Rob Beddows, Ann Hoar, Kev Price, Louise and Madison Clarke, Ed Cross, Alison & Allan Howard, Yvonne and Pete Sheldon, Cherry & Chris Macey, Lynne & Dennis O’Dea.

Thanks also to Jack Burkinshaw who picked up the bags in his van, Cllr Richard Cox who arranged for Lichfield District Council to pick up the rubbish from outside the Village Hall on Monday (17th) morning.

The litter pick will be completed when Lichfield Litter Legends clear the A513 Armitage Road (Kings Bromley Lane) from the junction of the A515 going west next Tuesday 25th.
