A38 Traffic Management Bulletin w/c 3 February 2025
Published 31 January 2025
Hello and welcome to our weekly A38 Traffic Management Bulletin.
A38 Toyota Island to Little Eaton LED lighting work
Until April, we’ll be completing the LED lighting upgrade work along the A38, between Toyota Island and Little Eaton. The new LED lighting will be more energy efficient and require less maintenance in the future.
This will be carried out on weeknights, between 8pm and 6am, predominantly under slip road and lane closures, with some full carriageway closures along this stretch.
The closures for this scheme for the following 2 weeks are:
- 3 February – Findern Interchange northbound entry slip road closure
- 4 February – Findern Interchange southbound exit slip road closure
- 5 February to 10 February – Findern Interchange to A516 Mickleover junction full northbound carriageway closure
- 11 February to 13 February – A516 eastbound to A38 northbound link road closure
- 14 February to 17 February – A38 southbound to A516 westbound link road closure
During closures there will be full signed diversion routes in place. Please see the attached bulletin for details.
A38 Claymills to Branston southbound essential maintenance
On Monday 10 February, from 9pm to 6am, we’ll have a full closure of the A38 southbound between the Claymills and Branston junctions. During this time, we’ll be carrying out essential maintenance work including drainage gully work and patches of resurfacing.
During the closure, we’ll have a fully signed diversion route in place that will take drivers off the A38 southbound at the Claymills junction, along the A5121 through Burton upon Trent, to rejoin the A38 at the Branston junction.
Third Party Work
Please be aware that Staffordshire County Council have some roadworks projects around the A38 in Burton. For further information on these roadworks, please use the following link – https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/Highways/roadworks/eaststaffs/Overview.aspx
We’re always looking to improve the way we work. If you haven’t provided your feedback then we would like to ask you to complete a short questionnaire. If you could spare just 4 minutes (maximum) and complete the survey, click here.
Wishing you all a safe journey
