An urgent A38 e-bulletin from National Highways that has been issued today. In summary, there will be A38 night-time southbound closures for 3 nights this week and 2 next between Branston and Swinfen Island to allow re-surfacing work to take place.

National Highways said
We’re pleased to confirm that we’re in the final stages to complete our A38 Fradley to Barton combined maintenance scheme.Unfortunately, due to bad weather, we were unable to remove all our speed enforcement and traffic management earlier this week. All remaining speed enforcement and traffic management will now be removed at this location along the southbound carriageway overnight under lane closures on Friday 3 November. Please accept our apologies for any additional inconvenience this may cause.We’re always looking to improve the way we work.
